Netgear GC728X 24-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Switch
Easily incorporate the Netgear GC728X 24 Port Gigabit Smart Managed Switch into your existing Insight Managed Smart Cloud setup and conveniently manage your switch and various network aspects from anywhere in the world using the Netgear Insight App. This managed Smart Cloud switch comes with 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports along with two Gigabit SFP ports and two 10G SFP+ ports. Once installed this switch offers a switching capacity of 92 Gb/s and a forwarding rate of 68.5 Mfps (measured with 64-byte packets). It also includes a MAC address table that can hold up to 16K addresses supports up to 256 VLANs features eight priority queues and allows for up to 512 multicast groups. Its design is desktop and rack mountable equipped with fan cooling for operation while keeping noise levels relatively low. The NETGEAR Smart Cloud Switch provides tools for traffic management, such as auto-negotiation of speed IEEE 802.3x flow control, dynamic MAC address management, and more. To enhance network security this NETGEAR switch offers features like MAC lockdown based on MAC quantity, dynamic VLAN assignment, guest VLAN access, IPv6-based ACLs (Access Control Lists), and more. Additionally it includes multicast efficiency features like IGMP snooping to optimize traffic performance and blocking of unknown multicast traffic as well, as MLD snooping. The network management functionality is designed to be user friendly providing insights through the app or the Insight Cloud Portal. It includes features such, as an IP access list, a management VLAN, SNMP capability, firmware upgradability, and many other useful functionalities.
