TP-Link TL-FC311A-20 Gigabit WDM Media Converter
The TP-Link TL-FC311A-20 is a gigabit media converter for converting electrical and optical communications. It comes with a gigabit RJ-45 connector and a gigabit SC fiber interface. Furthermore, commercial uses like wireless networking and park security monitoring may make use of long-distance data transfer using optical fiber. With only a single-mode fiber, the TL-FC311A-20 uses WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) technology to transmit and receive data over distances of up to 20 kilometers, saving customers 50% of the cost of cable deployment. The TL-FC311A-20 transmits data over optical fiber at 1550 nm and receives data at 1310 nm. The terminal device used with the TL-FC311A-20 should therefore transmit data at 1310 nm and receive data at 1550 nm. From TP-Link, yet another media converter TL-FC311B-20 is a component that can be used with TL-FC311A-20. Additionally, the TP-TL-FC1420 Link's rack or this media converter's standalone functionality can be used for auto MDI/MDI-X in the TX port, where duplex mode is automatically negotiated. A one-year warranty is included with the TP-Link TL-FC311A-20 Gigabit WDM Media Converter.
