The MC112CS is compliant with IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards and is intended for use with single-mode fiber cable and the SC-Type connector. The MC112CS implements the longwave (LX) laser standard at full wire speed. For data transmission and reception, it operates at 1310nm and 1550nm, respectively. The opposite end device must transmit data at 1550 nm and receive data at 1310 nm in order to work with the MC112CS. The MC111CS is one illustration of a TP-Link media converter that functions with the MC112CS. Both automatic duplex mode negotiation and MDI/MDI-X for the TX port. With single-mode fiber, the MC112CS can communicate over larger fiber optic distances of up to 20 kilometers (12.5 miles).
