This CPU is part of a new breed that includes an integrated GPU that may be used without the use of a separate graphics card. This new 10th-generation Comet Lake microarchitecture is built on a 14nm technology and has four cores but no HyperThreading. This chip is compatible with any Intel 300-series motherboard because it has been updated to the newest BIOS revision. With this in mind, all of the main motherboard makers have begun rolling out BIOS updates for their 300-series models. The base frequency of the Intel 9th Generation Core i3-9100 Processor is 3.60 GHz, with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.30 GHz. It has a 6 MB L3 SmartCache with four cores and eight threads. It has a thermal design power (TDP) of 64W and a bus speed of 8 GT/s DMI3. This new microprocessor includes a limited number of extension possibilities, including a 3.0 PCI express revision with up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4, and a maximum of 16 lanes. In terms of memory, this processor features a dual-channel with a maximum capacity of 64GB and a DDR4-2666 bus speed. This CPU has 2.0 Intel turbo boost and Intel virtualization that is directed to I/O as part of the advanced technology process (VT-d). Intel VT-x with enhanced page tables is also included in this OptaneTM Memory enabled processor (EPT). Additionally, Intel® Identity Protection Technology and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® have been added to improve its efficiency.
